The CONCACAF's Final Round of Qualification: the top three finishers in this round robin earned themselves a spot for the World Cup France 98. On Thursday December 4th, the final draw was made. I have yet to post this up for your review. In the meantime, check out my tables. I do have to fix my pages still, but I am very happy with the tables I've made.. I like presenting data, and this is actual data, actual results from this world wide competition! Write to me if you like them; I'm looking for a job too, if you would like to help me out!

The group winners are the United States and Costa Rica. The US did not have too hard of a time qualifying nor did Costa Rica. The difference was Guatamala, who failed to beat St.Vincent/Grenadines at St.Vincent. Guatamala's tie versus the US shouldn't go unnoticed. I still think the United States and Costa Rica weren't too impressive in this qualifying round but they still got through to the Final Round.

Canada, with nice qualifying results here, and El Salvador, are both victors here. Panama and Cuba didn't get much chance at anything. Cuba, and all of their games, were played on foreign soil!! Their away games to Canada, El Salvador, and Panama, were each in those countries respectively!! No wonder Cuba had a harder time to qualify than usual, but I guess dictatorship in that small island, or anywhere!, doesn't work out real well, now does it?!! Fidel, let your people go!!

Jamaica barely qualified from this round to make it to the Finals. Then suprisingly enough they made it to France 98!! With just three games to go in this round, Honduras could have tied Jamaica in points. Mexico, already leading this group by 2 points, had the advantage over Jamaica with the goal differential. Honduras was kind of out of the picture. But in Honduras's 3rd to last round-robin match, it beat StV-G 11 to 3, bringing them to just one point away in goal differential to Jamaica.
